About

The founder of Stitchinghouse Design Sue McCarthy-Moore relocated both her working studio and home to Poundbury in 1994.

Sue has a background of Fine Art, Fashion & Textiles and Art History.  She is joined in the studio by a small diverse and complementary team encompassing a wide range of skills, talent and ideas.

The open friendly working studio embraces the combination of imaginative and practical design, meticulous attention to detail and superb craftsmanship.

Here the friendly workroom and fabric library have thrived side by side.  Our open plan studio enables customers to take advantage of a relaxed atmosphere and discuss ideas with our team.

Our work is made in house and you are welcome to be involved in your commission.

We do love a challenge.

Stitchinghouse is a long established company that appreciates every commission be it large or small is important and unique.

“My husband Richard and I first called upon Sue McCarthy-Moore and her team at Stitchinghouse 19 years ago, when we bought our new home in Poundbury and required curtains and cushions sufficiently elegant to furnish our lovely Georgian style house. The care and personal attention we received from Sue was second to none. She helped and advised us, then produced the most fabulous curtains we had ever seen. Her hugely talented work continues to this day.”
